Hypoglycemia and Osteoporosis in Women

Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R,
Recent research focuses on how poor glycemic control in diabetic patients contributes to and/or aggravates bone loss in osteoporotic patients. As a result of hypoglycemia, the risks of falls, fragility, and low-impact fractures increases. Effective glycemic control will not only promote osteoblast function, angiogenesis, and bone perfusion, but will also help reduce fat accumulation in the marrow cavity, eventually leading to better bone health in diabetic patients.
To gain more insights, join Dr. Sudha Vidyasagar and Dr. Sahana Shetty, in an exclusive session entitled "Women with Hypoglycemia at Risk for Osteoporosis" TODAY, 6:00 PM IST onwards.
