Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R, Do you know why digital screen users are at an increased risk of developing DED? Prolonged use of visual display terminals (VDTs) results in dry eye disease (DED) through various etiological and pathophysiological mechanisms. The prevalence of this condition is increasing nowadays among people owing to the increased use of digital screens. Here's a video briefly discussing DED and computer vision syndrome (CVS) and highlighting the connection between digital screen use and DED. Everything from the mechanism, diagnosis, signs, symptoms, and prevention to the treatment of these conditions, and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and goblet cell dysfunction will be discussed in this video.
