Revolutionizing Diabetes Care with Artificial Intelligence

Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R,
Session highlights:
  • Role of AI in diabetes care
  • AI-driven chatbots for self-management in diabetes care
In 2019, the World Health Organization ranked diabetes as the 10th leading cause of death worldwide. The challenges faced by clinicians when managing diabetic patients are multifaceted and vary based on diabetes type, patient characteristics, and blood sugar levels to prevent both hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize diabetes care through early detection and diagnosis. Early detection will pave the way for preventive measures and timely intervention, ultimately reducing the disease's global burden.
Join for a live webinar hosted by Fitterfly and Docplexus on October 31, 2023, from 8:00-9:00 PM IST. Dr. Om J. Lakhani and Dr. Arbinder Singal will share their expertise on how AI is transforming diabetes care, and the webinar will be moderated by Dr. Neelesh Bhandari.

India on the Verge of DED Epidemic: Where Do We Stand?

Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R,
By 2030, almost 40% of the Indian urban population will suffer from dry eye.
Dry eye disease (DED) is challenging to detect because of its multifaceted etiopathogenesis, inconsistent symptoms, and the absence of gold-standard diagnostic testing for dry eyes.

Adults, particularly men of higher socioeconomic status in urban locations, are at increased risk for developing DED.
Comprehensive public health initiatives/programs and diverse epidemiological research on DED are needed to lower the number of dry eye cases in India.
Here's an article that shares data insights into DED's prevalence, demographics, and risk factors in India.

Eyes and Aging: The Complex Relationship with Dry Eye Disease

Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R,
It is imperative not to let age-related ocular conditions compromise your patients' quality of life.
  • As the global elderly population continues to grow, there is an urgent need to shed light on age-related ocular surface conditions that often go overlooked.
  • Alteration of the ocular surface with age leads to several changes, including reduced diameter of the lacrimal and meibomian glands.

Check out this infographic to gain deeper insights into aging and DED!
Highlights:
  • Mapping the prevalence of DED across various age groups
  • Ocular changes attributed to aging
  • Changes in tear film component
