Hi Renukaprasad A R, Intraocular foreign bodies (IOFBs) constitute a significant component of ocular morbidity associated with open globe injuries. Despite proper management, IOFBs associated with traumatic eye injuries may lead to severe vision loss. Though foreign objects can be composed of almost any substance, most reported ones are metal, as the majority of patients get injured while wielding a hammer. Given the risk of endophthalmitis, prompt evaluation and treatment are essential. Join Dr. S Natarajan, a renowned ophthalmologist, for a Surgical Suite session on "Surgical Management of Intraocular Foreign Body" on 18th June 2022, 4:00 PM IST onwards. |
