Diabetes and CVDs - Are We Overlooking the Connection?

Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R,
When patients are admitted for acute myocardial infarction or stroke, it is common for almost two-thirds of them to have unknown glucose metabolism disturbances. Even after three months of follow-up, the disturbances can still be present, although less noticeable. This is particularly true for elderly patients with stroke.1
Join Dr.(Prof.) Vivek Jawali and Dr. Minal Mohit, in an interactive webinar organized by Roche in association with Docplexus on 25th May, at 4:00 PM IST, to understand why and how to maintain appropriate glucose levels in patients with CVD.

We look forward to your active participation!

Kindly share the webinar link with your fellow HCPs and help them improve their daily practice!

Does Poor Sleep Quality Lead to Dry Eye Disease?

Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R,
Do you consider the quality of sleep when examining patients with dry eyes?

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) increases the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which leads to circulatory and local inflammation.

In turn, this can cause dysfunction of the lacrimal and meibomian glands, which results in aqueous-deficient and evaporative dry eye disease.
Check out this article for deeper insights into the correlation between sleep quality and dry eye disease.

Management of Cardio-renal Dysfunction | All About CPR & ACLS

Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R,
In 2021, the FDA authorized the innovative selective nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist, finerenone, to reduce the risk of cardiorenal complications. In comparison to eplerenone and spironolactone, it has a greater binding capacity for mineralocorticoid receptors and has demonstrated efficacy in the therapy of cardiorenal disorders. In addition, it is well tolerated and has been demonstrated to have stronger cardiorenal effects than eplerenone.
Significant advancements and modifications have been made to resuscitation techniques during the past 50 years. Moreover, there have been changes in recommendations for advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) based on several pieces of evidence and expert consensus.
To gain detailed insights into "Finerenone for Cardiorenal Dysfunction | Updates on CPR and ACLS," join proficient Nephrologist Dr. Siddharth Mavani and Critical Care Specialist Dr. Bhagyesh Shah in our exclusive session, organized in association with CIMS, TODAY, 6:00 PM IST onwards
