Early diagnosis and prompt treatment is a key to reducing the burden of breast cancer. Advances in medical technology have led to the discoveries of new cancer biomarkers and a better understanding of the pathophysiology of the tumor microenvironment. Consequently, there has been an extensive improvement in conventional cancer therapies, and new cancer therapies have been developed, including hormonal therapy, immunotherapy, thermal ablation, stem cell transplant, gene therapy, and therapeutics that block specific pathways of carcinogenesis.
