Using Functional Visual Acuity to Detect Dry Eyes

Dear Dr. Renukaprasad A R,
Do you know that dry eye patients suffer from reduced visual acuity during prolonged gazing?

In the context of current environmental and lifestyle changes brought about by excessive digital screen usage, contact lens wear, and aging, dry eye disease (DED) has become one of the most often observed ocular diseases.
The most miniature retinal picture that a patient can see is referred to as visual acuity.
By tracking the temporal variations of subjective visual acuity, functional visual acuity (FVA) enables the diagnosis of visual disruption associated with tear film instability in dry eye patients.

Here's an interesting video that provides riveting insights on FVA as an effective diagnostic tool for DED.
